Foodie alert. The Bite in the River Market is an trendy rustic fusion delight.
The Bite is located in the River Market at 23 East 3 Street. The Bite recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary and has been developing a growing loyal customer base. The Bite may look like your basic River Market restaurant, but this is not your typical sandwich shop. The Bite is a Mexican-Korean fusion sandwich shop that is a foodie paradise of strange combinations and non-typical ingredients. The staff was very friendly and we had service with a smile.
A quick review of Yelp before my visit directed me to try the Senor Chang sandwich and I wasn’t disappointed. This delicious flavorful sandwich includes beef short ribs, queso fresco, sriracha creama, candied jalapenos, pickled onions and a bit of radish and cilantro. This sandwich, and assumedly all their menu items, was packed with unique and savory flavors. The bread was a toasted roll with wonderful chaired edges.
Patatas Bravas and this side dish packs big flavor with potatoes, chipotle mayo, garlic oil, kimchi, cilantro and green onions. Both these dish were excellent and makes The Bite a destination for all foodies. These are the dishes that you love to talk about and that you will never attempt at home because nobody has these ingredients.
The menu had an irresistible custom tamale that they make to order based on your custom specifications. You pick from either a traditional sweet corn tamale or a unique spinach-black bean tamale. Each includes mole, queso fresco, sriracha crema, pickled onions, radish and sesame slaw. You can then add on additional toppings of your choice.

Whether you are a full blown foodie or just the occasional lunch diner, you need to have a couple of great trendy restaurants in your rolodex and The Bite is a great fusion lunch stop. The Bite has a popular homemade ice cream sandwich if you like a sweet finish. But if you not in the mode for ice cream then the River Market has several dessert options at the bakery next door if you want to take a sweet treat back to the office after your lunch.
admit it, you wrote this because you lost a bet and had to mention the word “foodie” at least 4 times.
I went last year, food was good, but there wasn’t a lot of it and I left hungry. hope they made portions bigger.
Oh, das klingt nich so prickelnd!Ich hoffe, Du hattest einen schönen Sonntag und kannst entspannt in die neue Woche starten!Liebe Grlr!ŸeÃCa¼amelÃita
I didn’t think I would enjoy the one-handed approach, because so many times either the camera is wobbling or the hand can’t get a proper grip. This was one-handed perfection!! Kudos to the popper and to dripper for bringing this to us.
food, maybe go for a walk (???) or meet someone for lunch, and blog apparently.Yet this is the same chick whose husband said that she WASN’T one of those pregnant women who just laid around eating ice cream but actually had good energy and was doing stuff. Sorry but laying around eating ice cream and reading a rundown of what she is doing (which sounds like a whole lotta nothin’ to me!) looks pretty similar…
